Film “The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore” is literally a dream come true for books aficionado like me – living and growing old with books who genuinely reciprocate your devotion to them.
I was intrigued by the film when it was announced on January 24 as one of the five nominations for the 2012 Academy Awards’ Best Animated Short Film category.
The film started with Mr. Morris Lessmore sitting peacefully on his hotel’s balcony writing his book before he was swept away by a menacing storm that ravaged through the town to a land where books come alive and can fly.
You might find the story plot a little familiar because Louisiana-based Moonbot Studios created the film inspired by the 2005 Hurricane Katrina and the classic story of “The Wizard of Oz.”
